I had so much fun doing empties posts but realised I mostly only managed to finish anything after about 2 months. However, July was an exception!
I’m on a roll! 😀 Here’s what they are, with quick recaps of what I thought of them.
- Biore Eye & Lip makeup remover – This one started out quite good. It removed most waterproof mascara quite well and did not sting my eyes. However, towards the end, it somehow felt less effective. I could hardly remove anything except powder makeup. I wonder if its to do with there being less oil or remover or whatever, but it sucked towards the end of the bottle. Not sure if I’m repurchasing. I’m back to using the L’Oreal one. If you have a rec for an inexpensive eye & lip makeup remover please share!
- Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF50+ (review) – I finished this up more quickly than I expected thanks to my holiday by the beach where I was reapplying it every couple of hours on face and arms. If used normally, I will expect to take another month to finish it. I plan to repurchase because the other sunscreen I tried using in its place isn’t cutting it.
- Kanebo Blanchir Make Off Conditioner (review) – Finished up the last few bits early in the month. The packaging has changed and I think the price has dropped when I last checked at the salon during my last facial. I’m contemplating trying the Impress cleansing oil but we’ll see 🙂
- Human Nature Moisturizing Shampoo (review) – The counterpart to the conditioner I finished up first. I’ve since already replenished and my hair seems back to being happy about it.
- Clinique Derma White Spot Corrector (review) – This one’s a bit of a cheat. There was just a teeny bit left and I just used it to finish it up.
How did you do in July? Did you manage to finish anything? 😀

Have u try the make up removal from Bifesta Mandom Corp? Its the cleansing lotion that cleans n tones n moisture at the same time. Its selling under sgd20. Pretty effective at removing waterproof mascara.

Oh my I am just starting to use the biore one! A deluxe sample size.. Hmm, Kanebo one is good too but i think it is more expensive at rm45… But really, nowadays I just use the hada Labo cleansing oil for everything.. It removes everything and am too lazy to use a separate remover! XD too bad ur skin don’t like olive oil.. Sigh
xin says
ooh i just finished my biore makeup remover too! for the last few uses, i noticed that only oil was left at the bottom hence maybe it’s why it is less effective
Paris B says
That could be it. But I remember when my Loreal one finishes, it’s all good down to the bottom. Weird.

Hi Paris ! I was wondering if u have tried Shiseido’s White Lucent essence and if so,what did u think of it?
Paris B says
Hi Jamie, if you mean the intensive spot targeting serum thing here’s my thoughts on it (link) hope that helps!

Try the cleansing express for eyes and lips! The brand used to be called Mandom. I have gone through 5 bottles already!
Paris B says
Thanks for the rec Denise! Someone else has told me to try it too so I guess I will have to next time 😀

Yay for empties! Are Shiseido sunscreens generally your favorites? I like the DHC Cleansing Oil because it’s so cheap. I don’t know if you guys have 7s over there that carry DHC? The ones in Taiwan did, and they’d have sales on them quite frequently, so I’d stock up 🙂 I’m told it’s not the most effective one, but for the price I’m not complaining.
Paris B says
This was my first time using a Shiseido sunscreen actually and I thought it worked very well. I used to use Western ones before. We do get DHC here. Not terribly cheap to be honest and it broke me out 🙁 I tried it many many years ago due to the hype but I think I can’t use olive oil based products. Most of them tend to break me out 🙁

Yay! Nice job on the empties Paris! And great picks too. I love the Shiseido sunscreens–I’ve been experimenting with some other ones, but they are NOWHERE near as good!
Paris B says
Awesome to know Shiseido sunscreens work for you too! I’d heard so much about how wonderful they were but it’s taken me till now to try them. Ah well, better late than never! 😉
Sze Ling says
Woohoo! That’s quite an achievement. 😉
What’s the other sunscreen you were trying?
Try the Impress IC one! 😀
Paris B says
Gah! I may pick up the Impress one next time I go for my facial. Bad Sze Ling! 😛 I’m trialing a Biore but so far am not impressed.
Sze Ling says
I only learn from the best. 😉

Hello,
I wanted to suggest the same thing Esther suggested. Bifesta was previously known as Cleansing express and apparently it’s a popular choice in japan. It’s being sold here at watson/guardian/carings at about RM30. It’s pretty good! i recently started using this.
Paris B says
Ooh thanks for this tip! I didn’t even know Mandom had had a name change. I used one of their face cleansing gel or something once and was quite impressed. Will be sure to check it out next time I go to Watsons 🙂

My favourite eye/ lip makeup remover is Neutrogena’s. Doesn’t sting and removes everything in seconds.

Thanks for the rec Stacey!

Oh these are such achievements!! I made myself a project pan where until I am finished with what I’ve got, I will not buy myself anything and even if I don’t have a blog I keep the finished bottles and take pictures of them so show myself this accomplishment 🙂

hey, need some help. Starting using the Kiehl’s face wash and it’s caused my skin to dry. I stopped using it two weeks ago when my beautician told me my skin is extremely dry. She told me to start using a moisturising serum as well.
Can anyone recommend a good facial wash that’s not too drying and a moisturising serum?
thanks.
