I just wanted to share one of my favourite pictures from last week.
I shot this while driving down the highway one evening with the setting sun at my back. Ok, I wasn’t driving. Its not safe to drive and photograph at the same time Which is really how I managed to take this photo of the wing mirror.
I’m just feeling a little pensive recently, and a little burnt out. This photo is just to remind me to pause and take a moment to appreciate what I have, be it a glorious sunset visible only through a rear view mirror, or time spent with loved ones.
Its also worth noting that objects in a mirror are closer than they appear. So looking in a mirror isn’t always a good thing because what it means is that you lose perspective. Some days, you just have to pull back and see what’s around you, live for the moment and enjoy yourself.
On that note also, I don’t normally post odd things like this, but I’ve been following this season of American Idol (yes yes, cringe! ) Whilst incredibly impressed by the talent displayed this year, it is this haunting rendition of Bob Seger’s “We’ve Got Tonight” by Phillip Phillips from the Final 3 show that has stayed with me. I love it and I had no doubt he would win (oops! You didn’t know? Well now you do )
