You when its a good time to try new stuff? When it comes in a value set 🙂
The Smashbox Wish for the Perfect Primer set (RM189) is a good one for you to try the various primers under Smashbox Cosmetics. What you get is this:-
- Full size Photo Finish Foundation Primer (in a tube form)
- Full size Photo Finish lid primer
- Travel size Photo Finish Targeted Pore and Line primer
I’ve tried the Photo Finish Foundation Primer (review for anyone interested) and I was dithering over buying the full size but I didn’t. I’m glad I didn’t because I much prefer that the one in this set comes in a tube form.
The old packaging is in a pump form. Whilst I like pump mechanisms for things like moisturizer, I dislike how there is wastage – product sticks to the mechanism and to the inside of the pump. In a tube, you can literally clean it out! I took a quick look at the website and it appears that Smashbox is changing their packaging for the primer to the tube. Yay!
I haven’t tried the Photo Finish Lid Primer so this is a good time to 🙂 Would like to see if I prefer it to the Urban Decay Primer Potion which I wasn’t quite enamoured with.
But there is one product in this set that really caught my attention from get-go and its this one.
The Photo Finish Targeted Pore and Line Primer.
I’d never come across this one yet. According to the Smashbox website, this “targets oversized pores and fine lines in problem areas like the nose, forehead, crow’s feet and around the mouth” and it works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Fascinating! Let ya know what I think once I take it for a whirl 🙂
The Wish for the Perfect Primers set is limited edition, but the products are all permanent and available individually. Have you tried any? 🙂

AAHH! I really want to try these primers… Wonder if they’re cheaper in HK or Taiwan… Especially the airports… ^.^
ParisB says
From what I recall Smashbox isn’t available at HKIA but I could be mistaken. Also I recall the prices there being higher than here. In HK I believe Smashbox is available at Facesss at Harbour City but I don’t know about Taiwan, nor its prices.
Hanny says
OOOO…. I will go check it out!! Thanks!

This sounds like it’s fantastic value! Other than the photofinish primer, any idea how much each of the other 2 items roughly cost on their own?
ParisB says
I believe the Lid Primer is RM76 but I don’t know the price of the Pore and Line Primer 🙂 Pretty decent value coz 2 are full sized products 🙂

Pore and Line Primer eh? Intriguing…
But I just bought UDPP in their professional size, so no more primer buying for me this year…haha.
Let us know how the pore and line primer works PB….:)

Hi ParisB,
Just wondering by permanent and available meaning for the full size or the mini size?
ParisB says
For the full size versions. This set is LE. Mini size is the Pore and Line primer in the set. Other 2 are full size. Full size Pore and Line Primer is also permanent based on the website 🙂

Tempting, if I didn’t have this bottle of make up base to finish first… next year lah, haha.
ParisB says
Haha yeah for me makeup bases or primers never finish. Or so it seems. Maybe I don’t use them enough 😛
Melisa says
Which 1 to use 1st?Mind to share with me?I am interested to Photo Finish Lid Primer, 😀
ParisB says
I’m sorry, do you mean each product? All are primers so they go on skin first followed by your makeup. For the lid primer, apply lid primer first and then apply your regular eyeshadow over it. It helps the colour last and makes it look more vibrant 🙂

That’s a wonderful set and great value for money. I’m really tempted to try it but I think I have too many primers already.. mm..
ParisB says
Yup! Its certainly value for money for someone new to primers 🙂 I like how they included in a face and lid primer. That’s very thoughtful.
