The FitFlop Addiction continues…

November 14, 2010 Paris B 47 Comments

I’m a self-proclaimed Fitflop fan ever since I got the Walkstar III a while ago. If you want to know what I think about this very pricey pair of flip flops or why I like it, go read my previous review 🙂

fitflop madness

Since the first pair, I’ve managed to convert my whole family… nearly… to wearing FitFlops. Yes even Dad! Haha! We actually found it cheaper to buy in Singapore despite the exchange rate. I’ve picked up a black pair there too but this isn’t about that pair of FitFlops. Its about one I’d been dithering about for ages.

Pietra is its name  and its about the most aesthetically pleasing FitFlop to look at yet. I wonder why they don’t make prettier designs like this one.

fitflip pietra flip flops

For anyone wondering about cut and fit, I must say that the Pietra is cut slimmer than the regular Walkstar or thong style FitFlops. It suits slimmer feet better so if you aren’t into the bulkier look of the other FitFlop designs, you could take a look at Pietra.

Also, I found that the sizing was a little odd. I wear a UK3 in the Walkstar series, but UK3 is a little snug in the Pietra. Fits just nicely, just a little more snug than I’m used to. UK4 was clearly too large.

Still, its pretty and it goes well with summery dresses like I wore yesterday. I’m usually in flip flops on the weekends – this just glams it up a little more while keeping my feet and back well supported 🙂

I personally feel its great for my back especially since I’m in heels most of the week and its great to support those who have flat feet too 🙂 I can walk for hours in these! But I can’t deny its pricey for the majority so that can be a little off putting.

Might you have fallen into the FitFlop trap already? 😉

Paris B

FitFlop Pietra retails at about RM318 locally and is available at Isetan

Oho! I’ve seen those too but I don’t think them particularly appealing. I think those are pricey because they are special edition?

I LOVE my fitflops!!! I’m considering getting the Pietra too…but have to dig deep into pockets first. I wear my Fitflops almost anywhere, and they are SO hardy!! I think they helped to tone my legs too. LOVE them!

Have you tried the Pietra? I dithered for a long time because of the snug fit and it fits a tiny bit smaller than I like. But its nice having a more bling option for the day 🙂

I saw on their site, Pietra and Electra are going for 50 pounds, less than RM300, can’t bring myself paying over RM300 here so might as well wait, and the sneakers look really nice le, thinking whether to get it as well 😉

I checked on their site, there are quite many places in London where you could get it, you can check out their site.

Ahhh… Fitflop… I have always wanted a pair and looking at the price in Malaysia, it made me flipped and I decided to look out of Malaysia! I recently got my bronze Electra from the US. It is definitely more comfy than wearing heels or flipflops. However, it made my feet sweat a lot! When I walk, my feet do not stay within the base because the heels will jut out. Will I consider buying another pair? Maybe, maybe not…

I got my fitflop for RM 160++ but I had to wait for a while for a friend to bring back for me. With such a bargain, it was worth the wait 🙂

Hey! That is truly a bargain worth waiting for 😉 I don’t get sweaty feet when I wear my FitFlops though. I did find that Electra does not fit my feet well which is why I couldn’t get them, pretty as they are. I have skinny flat feet (not as in no arch but as in not meaty) so I could’t get my feet to be comfortable in Electra. Do try the other designs. I personally feel they fit better.

I couldn’t wear Birkenstocks due to the shape of my feet so I can’t compare them, but I’ll take your word for it 😉 I did see pictures of the Swarovski ones, but they were too bling for me (whew)! 😉

The (nice) thing about FitFlops is that each design fits quite differently so although you can’t wear Pietra, you could possibly wear some of the other designs 😉 I haven’t seen the Anna Sui designed ones but they must be pricey! 😛

    Hi PB

I heart fitflops! i started out with one of those black walkstar which are big and bulkier, but since then i never looked back! I’m wearing UK5 and couldnt get Pietra in bronze for two months until new stocks came in finally.. agreed that its pricey but its definitely worth it.. Pietra goes well with summer dresses very well and it fits my foot better too! (anyway i started wearing becos of your post ;p)

I find local sizes vary but I usually go for a 5. To be very certain, I usually wear EUR36 which I find the most consistent sizing of all.

hi, i find your blog to be very interesting.

since u r a big fan of ff.. can u tell me the diff between electra and rokkit ?

i just bought the electra in singapore – UK size 3 ( with 10% discount from the original price SGD 119.90), however i find that it’s a bit loose now on the top part.

should i be buying on that fit tightly ? eg. i tried the rokkit, it fit tightly & the price is quite high …. i wonder will ff expand a little after wearing it ? thks

I haven’t checked out Rokkit closely but from what I can tell, Electra has sequins while Rokkit is studded. When I bought mine I was told to make sure it fits snugly so the top holds your foot properly. It will get loose over time. My first pair is now much looser but its also been about 2 years. The Pietra is still fitted for me. I’m not sure about Electra as I couldn’t wear that one – it was too loose for my feet.

As far as I know, the price is controlled nationwide unless there are sales/promotions on. Flipflops can be bought for cheap but Fitflops don’t come cheap.

You might have to check in store for promotions because they could happen off and on if they are clearing stock. Good luck!
