I’m feeling  a little out of sorts lately so this will be a short one. After all its a Saturday and you want to be out and about, not glued here to the PC 😉

New Faces of Estee Lauder – Constance Jablonski (France) and Liu Wen (China)

Liu Wen Constance Jalonski for Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder embraces a “first” by hiring 2 new faces from France and China for the brand to join the ranks of Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow. Expect to see French model Constance Jablonski and Chinese Model Liu Wen in Estee Lauder ads starting June 2010. I know of neither but personally I think it’ll be great to see a Chinese face on Estee Lauder’s coming ad campaigns. I hope they don’t limit her to the Cyberwhite EX range 😛

A Cut Above Gala Night – Reflections

Hair Academy and Salon A Cut Above celebrated their 31st anniversary in style last week with a huge party at the Center Court of MidValley Megamall. Star of the night was the sparkly disco ball model with a disco ball on his head and strutting his thing down the runway. He was super sporting too but I don’t think he liked me much 😛

Clockwise from Top Left: My fave hair bun of the evening on emcee Andrea Fonseka; Strange Robotic performance, A Cut Above founder Ms. Winnie Loo; Another hair and gown shot, Disco Ball with me and Connie

Yes you saw that right – its a “he” But he sure fooled a few! 😀

Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells Mascara with Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts’ first ad for Lancome will be for the Hypnose Precious Cells mascara. I have the ad below in French. For Malaysia we will get Virtuose Precious Cells mascara instead which is the lengthening mascara offering to help regenerate lash growth with stem cell technology. It is also Europe based. We have already read about the hype Hypnose Precious Cells mascara is causing. Let’s see if Virtuose Precious Cells will do the same. Available in May/June 2010.

Now take a look at the first Lancome ad for Hypnose Precious Cells mascara starring Julia Roberts. Its in French but hey! That’s a pretty language and Julia looks gorgeous in it :)

Happy weekend!

It’s certainly rare for Western brands to have Asian spokespeople.
Haha. you know the dress feels so hard, almost like a shell. I can’t imagine how hard it was for him to move in it! but that didn’t stop him eh?

I am quite keen to see how far Estee will take Liu Wen’s face. We don’t usually see international brands using a Chinese face. Maybe she’ll be Asia only? :) And no that guy was a winner! Its no wonder everyone mobbed him

Liu Wen is specifically for the China market – 1.3 billion (and counting), remember? Interestingly, I saw more European brands at beauty counters there compared to US brands. Guess this is Estee Lauder’s attempt to cut a bigger slice of the Chinese pie or 😉

Don’t you think Liu Wen’s looks could pass her off as a Korean or Japanese too? Wide reach she’s got.

Well Estee’s taking a big step forward to recognize the Asian market. I hope we see more ads featuring her here – it would make nice change from the norm

hmphhh i am not happy that we won’t be getting the hypnose precious cells! im not a big fan of the virtuose because it dries up so fast and it did nothing much for my lashes! =(

Aww I was hoping to get Hypnose too because I prefer something thickening instead of lengthening!

Liu Wen… Ain’t she the Chinese gal in the Dior campaign in that Singapore prison? Well, she’s really gorgeous if you ask me, hehehe. And yeah, its good that at least one Asian is having the limelight. ^.^
