Its a neutral sort of day with MAC pigments

I love my MAC pigments – one of the rare times you see “Love” and “MAC” being used in the same sentence here; but I don’t use them enough because they are a tad fiddly. But let me introduce you to 2 of my favourite colours – Naked and Deckchair pigments that I rediscovered recently.

Both these pigments are gorgeous neutrals that give a very subtle glowy look for the eyes. Me loves! They also work well to give a neutral or understated look when you want to pull out the red lipsticks. You don’t want your eyes competing with your lips :D

I did a neutral glowy look with a subtle pop of colour for the eyes which was inspired by Connie (who beats me hands down for awesomeness, so don’t compare :P )

A neutral glowy sort of face of the day

For the Eyes:-

  • MAC Naked pigment all over the lid
  • MAC Deckchair pigment on lid up to crease
  • Revlon Matte Very Violet eyeliner to line

For the face, I’ve been using the Guerlain Meteorites and Benefit Sugarbomb combination lately for a kickass glowy flawless look. I don’t have great skin but with this combination for the face, I’ve been able to take photos with flash and everything and still end up looking pretty much flawless. Even in person – yes I can con anyone :P Score!

My pop of colour for the eyes was the Revlon Matte Very Violet eyeliner. It applies very smooth like a kohl and is a very pretty Violet shade. You can smudge it using the built in rubber smudger which I did to blur the line a little. Lasts the day without smudging and is great for adding subtle colour. Deckchair pigment looks red but goes on the skin shimmery golden peach.

To brighten up the neutral look, I went with Dior Raspberry Serum on my lips – yes I do wear red lipstick on normal days!

This is an easy look that helps you look pulled together and I was quite ready to take on the world!

What colours do you usually use to create a neutral look? And speaking of which, its FRIDAY! Hurray! Any plans for the evening?

OMG! u have deckchair pigment???? I finished mine like a few months ago and I can’t find replacement and i’m looking everywhere on the net but seem couldn’t find it. MAC SA told me Jardin Aires could be the nearest dupe, but I hate the texture. Deckchair is my all time favorite from the whole collection that I have. Gosh, I wish u can sell me a sample of this pigment or maybe a swap? Tell me! (^_^’)

Yeah I picked up Deckchair and Coco a long while back. Its a gorgeous practical shade for all over or just highlight. I can see why you could finish it! I’m not sure of dupes but they should bring it back :)

Nice look, PB! Really makes me want to go doll myself up a little bit now… :) Hmm… is it just me but Dior Serum Raspberry looks redder in this pic than it does in your previous post? *confused*

Yes the Raspberry Serum looked a bit toned down in the previous post and this is a little redder. The actual color is somewhere in between :P

Ooo… the actual color is somewhere in between? I think I need to go test it out then… cos I really liked it in the previous post but it’s a bit too red for me in this post… :)

That’s a lovely neutral look! I never really know how to use MAC pigments and am always afraid they might be too shiny. How do you apply them? Do you use a base so that can “stick”?

Thank you Lyn and I don’t go for the shiny overly shimmer pigments. I do use a base so they stick better. I always use cream eyeshadow – works for me. Others use eyelid primers.

I wanted to get one of these but I have a bad experience in using make-up in loose powder form. :(
