in Giveaways

I had another giveaway planned for today but its going to be a bit delayed. Still, lets not let a good celebration go to waste eh? :D

I have 2 reasons for running a giveaway today:-

  1. Its Malaysia’s National Day so we’re having a public holiday – yay! :D
  2. I posted my 1000th post yesterday charting up yet another blogging milestone – yay!

Also, L’oreal Paris turned 100 this year and this Grand old French Dame celebrated her centennary with a bang! I wasn’t there at the party but the kind people at L’oreal sent me a care package of their most recent star products.

I love them dearly but I couldn’t possibly use all the goodies! So I decided I’d spread the love. Nothing better than sharing a good thing eh? :)

Q: What’s the nicest thing to happen to you this past week?

A: finally found the right medication for my mother! She is a type b diabetic whose sugar level has been out of control ever since switching to insulin early this year. After going through 5 major hospitals, countless hospital visits and a complete 180 change of lifestyle, words can’t describe how happy I am! :D

The best thing that happened to me last week? BF planned a one day trip to KL just to splurge cuz I’ve been tightening my wallet for the past few months. And in return, I cooked up some home-cooked goodness for him.

Not taking part in the giveaway, but would still like to share the nicest thing that happened to me the past week. Geekchic offered to knit me a makeup pouch! And she’s finished it :D

The nicest thing that happened to me this week..
Hmm it’s hard to choose, but I would say it is my colleague who helped me asked around for job vacancies among his friends & offered to send in my CV for higher chance of getting called for interviews. lol, I really was touched by his efforts and really appreciate it very much. Although he wouldn’t read it here, but anyway HUGE THANKS MC!! Really nice to have known you!

The nicest thing that happened to me the past week was to be able to persuade and take my mum for a full body massage (a first for me and mum). We also got a good deal, 2 for RM118! Absolute tranquility and serenity, it was bonding in a very different environment. The other not so good thing was that the masseuse was putting in too much strength than needed!

Hi Paris!
I would say the nicest thing that had happened to me last week was when I came back home from the hospital after a surgery to get rid of the cyst in my womb. I was lying in bed feeling miserable and in pain when my 1 year- old nephew came into my room with his favourite toy and stood beside my bed staring quizzically at me. Suddenly he reached out and gave me his toy before leaving the room. I was so touched by his simple gesture and felt instantly better. Needless to say, he came back looking for his toy the next day though hahaha
P/s: This is the 1st time I’ve posted something on your website. I have been an avid fan of mywomenstuff.com since last year. Keep up the good work!

I thought that I am not able to see my other half this Merdeka holiday as he was away for some church function and it upsets me a lil (ok..more than a little) because both of us are working in different states. Just when I am supposed to hop onto the bus to head back to the place where I am working, he came to see me and gave me roses alongside with cherry tomatoes(me love!). Though it was a simple gesture, it was one that moves me the most. And that was the best thing that happened to me this Merdeka holiday!

Izzy September 1, 2009 at 10:58 pm

Hmm, I don’t get out much so nothing much happens. BUT! Nicest thing that’s happened, not really to me personally, is my sister’s baby girl is finally here! The miracle of life is such a wonderful thing, no?

While most of ppl I know were outta town, in the span of long weekend I decided to check in 3 hours of spa, Retail Therapy for 3 days in a row in 3 of my favourite malls plus Gastronomic affairs indulging all the buka puasa food around town. Ended on Merdeka Day Sun tanning and chillin out in the pool in the most prestigious golf club right smack in KL.

Who says you can’t bring Bali/Phuket/Koh Samui to KL?

=P

What’s the nicest thing to happen to you this past week?

The best thing happened was to be able to visit my parents back at my home town after a few months of no permission of leave because of heavy schedule and work! (Sob!) I took 2 extra days that meant I got 3 days of holiday (plus Merdeka)! I also got the chance to babysit my 2 cute nieces (full time!) and I enjoyed it very much!

Thanks for the giveaway contest!

The nicest thing that happened to me last week was able to catch up with my friend as we had been putting off meeting each other due to our work schedule. We had lots to catch up on and she brought along another lady, so I got to know a new friend :) . Next, went off to watch a church drama with my ex-university classmate and it was so entertaining, I’m making it a point to go every year.

The nicest thing that happened to me this week was to finally waking up to an acne controlled face.I never had serious acne in my life and 3 months ago, I started having horrible never ending painful big pimples breaking out on both side of my cheeks and jaw area. When 1 subside, another break out again! No matter what I do, it just keep breaking out.I used to be pimple free girl and now I am the pimple girl! It’s really depressing and it got so bad that I actually tried my best to avoid going out to meet people! People also keep asking what happened to my face :( Thank god at last I found a remedy that could keep my acne under control. Now, who cares if my face is not bright enough (I’m a tan girl) or have fine lines? I’m just glad that the pimples have stopped and hopefully be gone for good! :)

By the way, congratulations to you to have come thus far in blogging. Love your blog and keep up with the good work and reviews! :)
