Ask & Answer : What is your favourite true Peach blush?

by Paris B on June 26, 2009 · 35 comments

Heads up everyone! Here’s a new column! :)

ask us!

Fridays are now “Ask and Answer” day where you ask and we’ll try to answer you. :)

I’ll post up a reader’s question emailed to me during the week and we can all discuss it – more heads = better ideas right? :) So, if you have a question or a problem that you don’t mind being discussed, do email me at parisb {at} mywomenstuff {dot} com and lets all help you find the answer!

Kicking off this Friday’s installment is a question on blushes! Yay! :D

I love my blushes but I’ve also learnt the hard way that true peach blushes are just a tad too warm for me so I can risk looking a bit “dirty” wearing it. If its light and sheer however, I manage to pull it off quite prettily. However, when I received this reader’s request from someone who’d like to be known as Anonymous, I was stumped.

Anonymous wanted to know if there is a true peach blush that shows up on slightly tanned skin.

I would to ask because I’m having difficulty looking for a peach-peach blusher. I’m a MAC NC35 and its difficult to find peach blush that actually shows up on my slightly tanned skin. I have TBS Apricot Shimmer and Loreal Blush Delice in Fresh Papaya, colour I quite fond of but it doesnt shows up , (thinking of NARS Orgasm but i think it’s too pink and wont show up as well) MAC Peaches is too pink for me so does E.L.F Glow … OR211 from Majorlica Majorca is too orange and Benefit Dandelion has too little shimmer and I love a shimmery blush!

I racked my brains silly but the only peach-peach blushes I know of that I have tried and/or own are:-

I did suggest that Anon try Chanel Candy Joues Contraste or Bobbi Brown Clementine but my inspiration ran out about there.

So, dear readers, lets put on our thinking caps this Friday and help out a fellow blush fan:-

What do you recommend for a true peach-peach blush?

If you’d like to ask your own question, please feel free to email me :) Have a great weekend and …

stay beautiful,

Paris B

I have NARS Orgasm Multiple and South Beach Multiple.

I look like my cheeks are burnt with just South Beach (too dark for me). But I just realised that mixing Orgasm and South Beach looks fantastic!

So, how about getting South Beach or any Apricot/Bronzy/Copper/Peachy cream blush as a base and then apply another powder/cream blush to achieve desired results?

The amount of peach/pink or shimmers can be adjusted according as well by varying the amounts of the 2 blushes.

Hi Shay

I’ve never tried the Nars Multiples. Glad to know they work for you

They are foolproof. :) Try it.

The only peach blush i have is the MAC Hello Kitty Blush in Fun & Games! It’s beautiful but then again it’s sheer, so it may not work for Anon! :)

BTW i love the banner!! It’s so lovely!! :D

Hiya Jenn

I have some pink/coral blushes:
MAC peaches (True peach)
Chanel JC “In Love”
Tarte cheekstain in “Tipsy” (more coral) and Blissful (more warm)

and…maybe Chanel Fandango (more of a brown-red-peach)

- MAC Peaches
- Chanel JC “In love” (this has gold shimmer)
- Tarte cheekstain in “Tipsy” (more coral/pink) and Blissful (warm peach)
and possible Chanel JC in “Fandango” (it’s more of a red-peach-brown)

MAC’s Trace Gold

It’s a gold-brown with a pretty peach satin sheen finish. I’m a NC30-35, and it doesn’t show too much. It’s more of a highlight or subtle blush color. Okay, sorry, it’s not true peach peach, but imho definitely worth checking out =).

Hiya Ashley

Not familiar but I’m sure it’ll help Anon a bunch! I hope she’s taking notes! ;)

I’m MAC NC35. I don’t really have any peach-peach blush. Most of what I’ve are peachy pink. MAC Mineralize Blush in Nuance is the only shimmery peach tone (almost close to orange) blush I own.

Hey Amanda

I’m mostly peach-pink too. Nuance sounds pretty ;)

Hi LifeisPeachy

It was a great question. I hope you have lots of ideas now :)

the one i’ve had thats peachy was silkygirl’s honeywood. it looks rather orangey but it gives such a nice glow i hit bottom pan!

but i’m MAC NC5 (loose)/NC 20 (foundation), dunno if that helps :)

Hi Anis

That pic is so you! And great idea on the new segment! I’ve been planning on something like this too but can’t figure out a more proper way to “launch” it. Lol

Hmmm… peach blush… gosh.. does Milani Luminous count? I tend to go for mostly peachy bronze shades anyway. Giorgio Armani #3 is gorgeous too. I don’t use that enough

Hi Connie

Milani Luminous was pinky on me so I didn’t include it. But then I guess it works differently on everyone :)

Not sure if its peachy peach, I think its more peachy-pink peach… but Lumiere Ditto ‘O’ really looks great! A dupe of Nars Orgasm :D

I LOVE peach blushers.. Top of my list would be NARS Deep Throat and The Makeup Store’s apricot sorbet. Eversun might work too..

On me.. MAC’s Trace Gold would still be a little brownish.. Torrid reddish.. Coralista, Orgasm are too pinkish..

Hope this helps!

Hi Ann

Ah! I don’t own Deep Throat – I hear its a lovely peachy shade :) Thanks!

Chanel Tweed is too corase for me so i passed them all. but I am glad it made your list. I’d go with Benefit Coralista and Make Up For Ever 25 (the regular eye shadow/blush), not the Sculpting type. I also adore Chanel Joues Contraste Euro Candy as Reflex is a bit too shimmery for my liking.

Hi Jojoba

Thanks for confirming Candy. I wasn’t too sure.

The Lumiere Apricot cheek colour is a lovely one. Peachy with warm pink tones. http://www.lumierecosmetics.com/products/Apricot-103-81.html

It shows up on fair skin and because it’s pigmented (as with most mineral makeup), it shows up on tanned skin too. Maybe you can try that.

If you are in Malaysia you might be able to find it at lovingminerals.com or in Bodybar (not sure if there’s still stock available). Or you can always buy it online from Lumiere.

3. MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty (pinky-peach)
