Day 1 of the 30 lipsticks in 30 days Project opens with Benefit Cosmetics Silky Finish lipstick in Frenched.
Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick – Frenched
Frenched is a scary bright RED lipstick in the tube. Just look at it. Its bright without discernable warm or cool tones although I’d say it tends towards the warm.
However, I knew right off that Frenched was a red made just for me. Its no secret I love red lippies and Frenched fills that niche, being at one and the same time bright and creamy.
Being a silky finish lipstick, the texture is smooth and silky but it goes on very creamy and pigmented. I mean pigmented… seriously.
It certainly is a colour for the night and promises to glam up any night outfit. Bit too bright for the day, even for me!

Its a big jump from nude/neutral to red so try a sheer red before going in the deep end. A couple of sheerer reds are coming up soon. Thanks! Any girl can wear red lipstick!

looks rather new to me. i bought the chanel LE red gloss jupiter and regret it. gave it away to MIL as it’s just too red for me and i can’t wear red.
With a red like that, the date’s sure to be one wild night! *winks*
I prefer taking product pictures before actually using them so they won’t look all “used” when I post them up :-/ Perhaps that’s why PB’s lipstick looks new.
I love the Benefit lipsticks. I don’t have a red one so I’ll have to check this shade out. I have a few colors from spring/summer 2009 that I really like, and I did a post featuring swatches and pics of the colors a while back. Thrillin’ Brazilian is my favorite!

I googled reviews/swatches for Frenched and came to your blog. It will be my first Benefit lipstick, and was the colour that got me the most from their site. I’m a sucker for reds and corals! is there any other you really liked? I liked the swatch of misbehavin and breathless (more plum/mauve colours).
Any experience with them?

Hi Christina – I love Frenched! I haven’t tried Misbehavin’ or Breathless but I might have Swoonderful somewhere. Its not bad too but not a bright shade. Good for everyday I’d say. Thanks for coming by!
