Note: I have tried this and I think its pretty good but here’s my full review on the Maybelline Pulse Perfection.
When is it no longer cool to own a vibrating mascara?
When you start finding it in drugstores.
Maybelline is putting out a vibrating mascara called Maybelline Pulse Perfection that will cost US$15. Expensive by drugstore standards.
The Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara operates by way of a button on the cap and delivers 7,000 vibrations per minute to coat your lashes with mascara.
Wait a minute. This sales pitch is looking familiar. Where have I seen it before?
*slaps forehead* Lancome Oscillation of course!
I know that Maybelline and Lancome come under the same parent company but wasn’t the technology transfer a little too quick this time? Its been barely a year since Oscillation was launched. Perhaps they needed to get the technology out quickly to the masses so it starts to pay for itself? Not many people would fork out the moolah for a $34 Lancome Oscillation but they might pay $15 for a Maybelline Pulse Perfection?
I don’t know if we’ll see the Maybelline Pulse Perfection here in Malaysia but it will certainly be interesting eh? I don’t know many people who will pay RM60 for a mascara from Maybelline. That said, its half the price of the Lancome Oscillation so… that makes it worth a shot at a bit of gimmicky fun I suppose. 🙂
What do you think? Yay or Nay?
Stay beautiful,
Paris B
Karenmarie says
I wonder if its as good as the Lancome one…
ParisB says
Hi Karenmarie
I’m wondering the same thing too. Then again, its probably the same technology so that makes it more or less the same?
Karenmarie says
I guess so.. I hope its cheaper here in Malaysia.
Shuu says
When is it gonna come out here? lol Worth a try but a purse on budget might start protesting.. 😛
ParisB says
Hi Shuu
I have no idea if it’ll ever come here. Some things never do.
June says
this made me so tempted AT FIRST
but then again, it is still pretty exp! 🙁
ParisB says
Hi June
Still half the price of the department store vibrating mascara!
Traclyn Yeoh says
The name was impressive but it’s too expensive for a drugstore brand. Maybelline mascaras cost like less than $13 there.
Imagine when it arrives to Malaysia market. Who’s gonna get this?
ParisB says
Hey Traclyn
I suspect if it does come here, lots of people will get it! For novelty sake if nothing else 😉 Though I reckon its not that expensive at $15 – if it does the job of one that costs $34!
Connie says
I am very tempted to get this! If it comes out early of July I just might but I have a feeling that it’s gonna be “meh” so I’m not sure if I wanna get it for the gimmick. lol! i wouldn’t pay 15 dollars for a tube of maybelline but since they have BOGO so often, I wouldn’t mind paying 15 for TWO tubes! 😀
I should really stop buying mascaras *imagines overflowing mascara drawer*
ParisB says
Hi Connie
Hehe… I’d probably just wait and see if it ever gets here. After all, if it launches in July in the USA, it’ll probably get here by Christmas 😛
Connie says
or never! like the many maybelline mascaras that never got here :-/
rinnah says
Well, I wouldn’t pay full price for this one lor… guess I’m a brand snob! Heh. But I would pick it up if I happen to see it at the warehouse sales…
ParisB says
Hi Rinnah
haha… I would la 😛 Promotional price maybe teehee after all still cheaper than paying RM120 for Lancome! 😉
Synaesthesia says
RM60 for a maybelline mascara? i guess i have to think twice… it’s all depend on what’s the reviews on it… I won’t buy it until people saying it’s great… although different ppl different opinion and experiences but at least better than everyone saying it bad, right? kekeke…
ParisB says
Hi Synaesthesia
RM60 is a rough guess on my part. I don’t even know if we’ll get it here. I suspect we are going to see a lot of yays and nays when people start trying it.
eliza says
lolz nay for me
plue says
i am not paying rm60 for a mascara 😛
unless it works too well to NOT having it! still sticking to my Kiss Me or MJ 😛 Slightly cheaper, but not much! LOL.
ParisB says
Hi Plue
Isn’t Majorlica Majorca also about RM50? I’ve never tried and somehow, have no urge to. heh… Maybe the next time I see a hefty sale.
plue says
Yeah, it’s rm50, but it works really well! So I don’t mind. Imagine paying rm60 or more for something that doesn’t do anything for me. Sam tong ah!
Jessica says
wow…vibrating mascara so in la! as intrigued as i am of this mascara…well, rm60 is really pushing it for a drugstore brand…but if it’s cheaper..why not?
ParisB says
Hi Jessica
Yep I reckon thats what most people will think. If its half the price of a department store brand, it’ll be worth trying out at least once!
prettybeautiful says
definitely nay for me. i rather go spend the rm60 on some falsies. lol.
ParisB says
LOL prettybeautiful
I guess that would make a lot of sense! 😉
Nikki says
PB!!! I don’t feel special owning a Lancome Oscillation!!! aaccckkk why???? hahahaha
ParisB says
Hey Nikki
Girl, you’d be able to keep feeling special until July.. then it all downhill from there LOL…
Monstro says
I’d try it. Especially if it’s half the price for the same tech as Lancome, why not? Me is no brand snob…:-D
ParisB says
Hey Monstro
If you get your hands on it, remember me eh? 😉
Nur says
I say bring on the lovely falsies!! I can’t wait for this mascara to be available in Sg. Lancome was too expensive for my limited budget.
a.min says
wow! surprisingly vibrating mascara from maybelline! but maybe it shouldn’t be too surprise either, cause what maybelline start with is mascara. but i doubt i will get 1, cause i trust my hand more, haha!
ParisB says
Hi a.min
Actually vibrating mascara is really easy to use – you just hold it there and it does the work for you 🙂
Yumimi says
It’s available at Watsons now!! =) Limited Edition though~
