So, you buy and you buy but do you ever finish anything? I know some people are wondering about that but are (maybe) too polite to ask 
My answer is yes, I do.
My latest product to hit pan and to find its way out of my stash and into my trash is my Kanebo Revue 2way powder foundation and Revlon Age-defying foundation. I love them both and they work a treat for me with medium coverage and perfect color match to my skin. They are both my to-go foundation that I reach for without thinking. In fact, this is my 2nd or is it 3rd similar Revue foundation! I’m so sad that Kanebo discontinued Revue 
I could still buy it from existing stock I know, but I’m moving on to try other stuff for a while.
I also finish lipstick and mascara in the color cosmetics department. The latest to get binned was the Guerlain le 2 brush mascara – it was time *sob sob* My skincare gets replenished regularly as well as bath and body products.
Color products are harder to finish up though – you’d have to use one colour every single day to be able to make a decent dent in them. Hence my experiment/ challenge… if you’d like to join me 
Here’s a barely used Definite Cosmetics Party Eyeshadow in Twist n Shout and Cargo blush in The Big Easy.
My mission is to use these and ONLY these 2 products every single day that I have makeup on for 1 month. That’s at least 20 days worth of usage. I’ll revisit again after 1 month to show how much a dent I have made into both products. I will of course mix the eyeshadow with other colors but I will use this particular color every single day.

whooooah! so far the only product that i’ll finish using is my foundation… but the current RMK foundation looks like it’s immortal… perhaps i should stop using foundation brush to save up foundation… LOL!!!

Yep foundation is one thing that does tend to finish and a foundation brush does soak up liquid as do sponges.
hehe… at first i thought so… but after learning on how to tahan the urge to take more foundation with my brush… half 10 cent dollop of foundation can done with my whole face… tat is even less than 5cent size…

LOL…I’ve been doing that! I have a “in a rush” kit that I use every morning (in the car or on the way to meetings) – so I already have my “dents”..heehee..

For the very 1st time, very happy to tell that i have finished my mineral foundation & finishing powder last week! Now living on BB cream & using it everyday. Oh i just finished my 1st body lotion ever in my life time yesterday as well & it feels good knowing that i have used up very single cent i paid for. Normally most of my products go to the trash after expiry date.

Errr…..I just wanna take it a bit further cos I just have too many stuff accumulated over the past few months. It’s just the eye part seems a lot, but as I explained, I need something to tone down the dark eyeshadow!

I’ve been thinking the same idea a few months ago – to finish a product within 1 month. Actually this idea came from my bf who always complaining that i’m buying too many makeup. I can’t help as i’m such a makeup addicted! He said finish whatever u have then buy a new one. hehehe…I challenge myself last month to finish my MAC Blot Powder and my Revlon ColorStay foundation and i did it! This month i did the same and I already finished more than 60% of the product. Can’t wait to reach 31st May so see if i can finished them again! Thanks again Paris for such a brilliant idea.

i never finished my blushers, not a single one. and of course my eyeshadows too.

I’ve actually finished an In2it blush before–shock and awe! But other than that, colour stuff never finishes! Foundation and mascara goes the fastest for sure. I don’t think I can manage that challenge. I can’t stick to one blush a whole month–too weak for this challenge, sorry!

Wow..this is a great idea! and so far, I have finished many products, like my P&J Dual Powder Foundation, my Ellana Mineral Foundation, come to think of it, I haven’t finished any eyeshadow yet, and recently, in a makeup class challenge, I did this look that requires me to put blue eyeshadow all over the forehead, side of the face and neck FULL! And I still have more than half the eyeshadow pan! I think eyeshadows do last a loooooonnnngggg time!

Oh yeah I have to add, I finished Maybelline blush which I had for almost a year! LOL and it was a small blush pan! YAY! I finished a blush! hahahaha it will be difficult for me to take part as I use makeup for others

Hey Paris, I’ve been visiting your site very regularly but this is the first time commenting.
I’ve got a L’Oreal quad and I use two of the colors *everyday* (browbone highlighter & browcolor) for the past 6 months, but the dent is slight!
Other than eyeliner & lipgloss I’ve never finished any color makeup before. But that doesn’t stop me from buying! =D

Besides items I’ve finished I have actually used the same palette and blush everyday for a month (or more) when travelling in Europe. But when they came close to finishing I panicked because I loved them so. And stopped using them! (They’re both LE and not replaceable)

The only makeup stuff I finish are mascara and makeup remover.

Maybe its because you don’t need a lot of the product? I do find that with foundation how much is used up depends on whether I need very little or I need coverage.
This is difficult for me. I just receive 10 piece of LA colors and how? I’m gonna do more tutorials.
The only thing I ever hit the pan is my Maybelline Clear Smooth Compact but not finish yet.

Great idea, PB! So far I only ever hit pan on skin care, foundation, loose powder and mascara. Yes, I do agree that colored makeup especially e/s taking forever to finish yet if it is used regularly, even in a month you can notice quite a dent
That’s what happened to my Maybelline gold nuggets palette during my previous semester. I had 8-AM class everyday and I was too lazy to play around with colors, I always grabbed the same palette and I hit pan on the e/s palette within 3 months lol

ok, i have finished a few things in my makeup life, believe it or not. 3 napoleon shimmer e/s (before I started hating him.) at least 2 benefit dandelion and 2+++ shiseido e/s qaud. and many foundations and full cover. i guess also maybelline wp liquid eyeliner and most mascara.

Haha… Its why I only chose 1 eyeshadow that I know I can mix and match. The blush is good to go so that’s a consolation. The thing is that its easy to finish up stuff if you only have that one or two but it gets harder when you start accumulating heh…
