Dior Designer All in one Artistry Eyeshadow Palette & Bronze Harmony Blush Rose Brazilia Sneak Peek!

April 22, 2009 Paris B 23 Comments

I thought gradational eyeshadow color was in the domain of the Japanese. If you have noticed, many eyeshadow palettes of Japanese brands of makeup tend to be gradational in tone – light to dark shades of the same colour in one palette.

Dior All in One Artistry Palettes

Lancome had some gradational 4 color palettes too but they don’t seem to be the norm. It would seem that Dior is now boldly taking a step into that domain with the new Dior 5 Couleurs Design All-in-one Artistry Eyeshadow palettes (official site). I was very surprised when I saw pictures of it. Its just not quite like Dior to go this way.

The other thing that surprised me was that each eyeshadow palette contains a cream liner. That is very reminiscent indeed of Japanese brand eyeshadow palettes like my T’estimo Frame Impact palette.

Dior says that each palette contains 5 different textures – light base, iridescent colour, satiny colour, pearlescent shine and mat cream liner.

I’m no stranger to using gradational eyeshadow colours since I enjoy Japanese brands so these palettes might be right up my alley 🙂 I have my eye on the Green Design (green), Navy Design (blues) and Smokey Design (greys and blacks). Unfortunately however, Smokey Design is not available in Asia but will be available elsewhere. Green Design however is Asia exclusive so if you like greens, get a friend in Asia to get it for you!

Here is Nude Pink Design – it looks pink in the stock picture above but is actually a very lovely neutral beigey shade in the pan – my sort of colors for an everyday look. Green Design is still haunting me though… so that might have to come in due course

Dior Nude Pink Design Artistry Palette

They retail for RM194 a palette at Dior counters. However, since cream liners dry out, I’m wondering if I want to risk getting the Green Design anyway 😛 I’ll try to get swatches of the rest if I have the time. If not, you can look at Jojoba’s. There is a new Iconic Diorshow Extreme mascara in this collection as well which I’ll showcase another day.

Dior Summer 2009 Bronze Harmonie Bronzer-Blush – Rose Brazilia – Sneak Peek!

Ooh and I managed to get my hot little hands on the Dior Summer 2009 Bronzer Blush in Rose Brazilia !! They are available in May 2009 at counters but here’s a sneak peek 🙂

Dior Rose Brazilia Bronze Harmony Blush

There are lots of pictures of Coral Riviera online but I realised that Rose Brazilia seems to be lacking its fans. I don’t see why it should – its gorgeous! I can barely bring myself to touch it 😛 So you’ll have to wait before I can steel myself to play with it and review ok? 🙂

Tell me, do you prefer gradational colours for eyeshadow palettes or eyeshadow palettes with different colours in them? Don’t you think the new Dior Bronze Harmony blushes look awesome?

Stay beautiful,

Paris B

i have that blush and i am wearing it NOW!!! the gold overspray’s useless but the colours underneath os awesome!

i can’t believe you get nude/pink in the designers’s quint though as i’d think pink isn’t really your colour.

    oh, well…

i am thinking i picked out the wrong colours of the chanel glossimers. too red for me! but i love those colours, nevertheless

      Hey Jojoba

The blush looks awesome! I can’t quite dig in just yet 🙂 Maybe next week. The Nude Pink looks neutral and cool which the Amber does not. I’m loving my Chanel glossimer!

      Hi Charlieee

Yeah all the reviews I’ve read are positive too. Its hard to dislike a blush this pretty 😀 Do let us know how you like Coral Riviera. I thought it looked too warm which is why I opted for the Rose Brazilia

Hey! What an awesome palette you’ve got there!

I’ve recently got interested in high end makeup. hehe…I used to think that any form of makeup is a luxury in life that one shouldn’t spend much on. But I changed my mind.

I think gradation palettes are great! Especially since I’m not good at blending various colours on my eyes. Even when the colours blend, the texture might be different. And I can’t stand to have shadows of different texture on my eyes. I’ll just feel weird.

      Hi Shay

Different textures of colours are good as they add dimension and gradational is easy to use. Not everyone likes it however as color selection is of course less. High end makeup is different from low end and owning something high end can be uplifting 😉

It’s definitely going into my wish list, think the Green one. Blue one’s nice too. I normally like Pink eyeshadows but the pink palette is not really pink.

      Hi Vonvon

I usually look like a crying rabbit in pink eyeshadow so I’m happy that this isn’t pink! Its more nude than pink haha… I’m still thinking of the blue and green. We’ll see 🙂

Why does the green one have to be Asia Exclusive! That’s the only color I’m interested in! *cries in corner*

Ahh well, just means less money spent, hehe.
