I used to have a couple of Bobbi Brown’s Shimmerbricks. They were nice but there is only so much shimmer a girl can take and only so much shimmer you would apply on a daily basis. So I stopped at 2.
However, the new Bobbi Brown Platinum Pink Shimmerbrick (link) has made me do a double take.
This limited edition Platinum Pink Shimmerbrick has five color bars to light up the face -soft pink, platinum, bright pink, golden coral and rose. I think this one trumps all the rest in terms of prettiness factor.
It looks like a highlighter, rather like the Meteorites popularized by Guerlain. I see the same sort of colours. However, as Bobbi Brown shimmerbricks tend to be very shimmery on the skin, I am wondering how this will perform as an all over highlighter. I used to use my shimmerbricks only on my cheekbones. The colours can also be used for eyes so I reckon its quite useful.
Still, I will be checking it out when it comes here to Malaysia. Its already out in the USA and retails for US$40. Bobbi Brown shimmerbricks used to retail here for RM135 but do let me know if the price has gone up because its been a while since I checked them out

This is nice, but Guerlain’s meteorites packaging looks so classy, but I am not sure shimmer works for oily skin?

It certainly looks good. Shimmer is tres bad for oily skin. It only makes you look oilier! However, if you are planning a candlelit dinner, a little shimmer can be a good thing for that glow!
I want this painfully. Shimmrbrick retails at RM145 now. Wonder when this will be out? Am not receiving BB “newsletter” since beginning of this year

I used to think I really like the shimmerbricks, but when I tried it out, I’m with you. There’s only so much shimmer a girl can take, and it was definitely too much for me. Although I have to say, I’m quite taken to this one, at how pretty it looks. I shall go check it out and see how much of a disco ball I’m going to look with this one

Glad you agree about the shimmer! I liked the glow but not the oil slick it became after a while. I’ll be checking this out too though I doubt I’d get it.
Check out MAC latest collection the Redhead Brunette Blonde Collection. They have their new Mineralized Skin Finish with 4 color bars. To be truth, i’m not a fan of MSF, but this one is really pretty. U can use the dark color for contouring and the light color as higlight and i can promised u the color last all day!

Ya ya…u should look at it. Last weekend i went to MAC KLCC to check out their latest Hello Kitty collection. The MA told me the MSF is almost finish and what left is MSF for dark skin color. And if u went to KLCC, ask for Estella, she’s the sweetest girl
Currently, I’m using Guerlain Meteorites and still loving it. If there’s only a reason for me to switch off Meteorites that would be its so hard for me to get the products HERE. My local Guerlain counter always empty with no SA. I have no idea what’s happening to Guerlain, mayb they’r earning too much n sick to earn more. Last season, I was trying to get their limited edition eyeshadow palette but the SA said she has to order it, will call me when the goods arrived. Waited till now, still no news even I purposely went down there too many times the neither SA around nor the goods arrived yet. Such disappointment… I love Guerlain products but I hate the attitude.

I’m sorry you have a bad experience with Guerlain counters. I do tend to agree that Guerlain sales people tend to disappear from their station which makes it very hard for customers to buy anything. I have had a decent experience at Guerlain at Isetan The Gardens though as well as at Metrojaya MidValley. Perhaps next time, try taking down their number and call them instead to check on the arrival of your stuff.
A new shimmerbrick? ooh…I have 4 already…maybe I don’t NEED another one, rite? Right??
