If you are like me and spend the longest time putting on mascara, fearing to get poked in the eye by the mascara wand, or fearing having mascara smeared over your lid, would you use a vibrating mascara wand?
Well, the folks at Lancome and Estee Lauder certainly think so!
Lancome has come up with an Oscillation Mascara (US$34) which at a press of a button, vibrates to coat your lashes up to 360° .
Not to be outdone, the other cosmetics giant Estee Lauder introduces the Turbolash All Effects mascara (US$30) which also at a touch of a button, vibrates to coat your lashes with the mascara.
I’m not sure if I dare have those vibrating brushes near my eyes especially because I already have short lashes to start with. That said though, I’m game to give them a try, although I will balk at paying those asking prices! I wonder when we’ll get them here (or if they are already here in Malaysia) so I can check them out.
Dare you risk a vibrating mascara wand near your lashes?

they would definitely be expensive down here in PI!!! That is interesting!!!
Why do I have the feeling that I would smudge more of my mascara with a vibrating/oscillating wand than I would with my shaky hand?
But then, I probably shouldn’t judge the product before I used it. *grin*
As it is I apply my mascara with a very shaky hand (got thyroid condition maa) so with this, i would end up having black eyes! I have reasonably long lashes but still……to have it vibrating next to my peepers….a bit much laa. Although, depends on the degree of vibration though, if it gently vibrates, i would consider. But must have irresistable price tag.
I’m already such a klutz! Vibration might make it worse? But would love to try it out to see if the gimmick is worthy
Btw, love the curlicue patterns on your site background–I just noticed it!
i wouldnt mind trying it, since im quite lazy, i can let the brush do the job for me … hehe though i have to say the lancome mascara wand looks more promising.however, im pretty sure i’ll get mascara smeared all over my eyelids.
@Nikki: Yep it sure is! Its going to be expensive here too.
@Rinnah: I’m having the same feeling as you - more smudgies.
@Jacqueline: I sure hope its a mild vibration! A violent one will be dangerous lol…
@Monstro: Thanks! I got sick of the stripes
@nkp:I might give it a shot but if its going to cost me RM100+ I’d balk at testing out a novelty gadget! Maybe I could reuse the brush hehe
I laughed out loud reading this post! the title itself is catchy!
Jojoba: Heh… unfortunately the counters have never heard of this!
I think my clumsy hand would just muck my mascara application with the vibrating wand :p
Hey…I saw a demo how to applied the mascara using the Lancome latest Oscillation mascara, the result is amazing and what I saw is easy to use it. Lengthening and curling result…thumbs up, with only 3 application. It’s motion of vibrating is not what I thought earlier on, it’s kind of like a zic-zac movement when we applied those normal mascara and plus like turning 360 degree. Guess will give a try after seeing those result.
