Review: L’oreal UV Perfect Fluid Protector sunscreen – anti-dullness

loreal uv perfect I’d reviewed the L’oreal UV Perfect Fluid Protector sunscreen before in a separate review. Anyone who knows me would know how paranoid I am about using sunscreen. Sunscreen truly is the best anti-aging cream out there simply because it blocks UV rays from damaging your skin thereby preventing aging at its root.

All that aside though, I had been curious about the anti-dullness formula for a while and I also noticed that the L’oreal UV Perfect sunscreen had been repackaged. So, I was wondering if they had also reformulated it.

So when my current tube was on its last legs, I took a gamble on this anti-dullness formula. It comes in the usual box and tube except there is little purple square at the bottom with the words “anti-dullness”.

The texture of the sunscreen is the same, creamy but there is a purplish tint to the cream. This purple tint, although looking impossibly ghastly, actually serves to counteract yellowness and dullness. The minute I apply it on, my skin colour actually looks quite radiant and even. So, I don’t even really need foundation on some days. Awesome or what? When they say it makes a great makeup base, they aren’t kidding.

I’m not sure if it has been reformulated but I find that this sunscreen is slightly less greasy in that it doesn’t cause my skin to get oily after a while. The previous one I used (transparent) did tend to get a little greasy after a couple of hours. But this one doesn’t leave any shine.

I’ve noticed that the price of this L’oreal UV Perfect sunscreen appears to have dropped because most places are selling it at under RM30 now. This sunscreen works the best thus far for me and I’m happy that its cheap and effective and I’m never using another!

Pros: Does what it promises, skin looks more radiant and even toned

Cons: None

I’m still worried about it breaking me out. I’ve heard so much reviews about it, I’m tempted to try but I’m a HUGE wimp.

PB says: Heh… if you already have something working for you, stick with it.

Haha. I’m using anti-dullness too. It can be a moisturiser. So when I’m gonna be outdoors all day, I just skip my moisturiser and use that. But when I’m working I’ll need to apply my moisturiser first. The air-con at my work place is so strong it dries out my skin!

For the anti-dullness effect. Wow… My manager and friends commented that I look more radiant and less tired.

I’ve been using it for 4 days now. haha. So I don’t really know if it will give me breakouts.

In Singapore they are selling them at under $17. The usual price was around… $22+.

PB says: I’m getting the same comments too, and I find it makes an awesome makeup base as it evens out the tone before the foundation goes on. And you are getting a good price too. I think they must have revised prices.

i’m using this too :) love the anti-dullness effect!

btw, just wondering, do we really need to reapply sunblock after a few hours?

PB says: Yay and the experts say we must reapply. But because I already have makeup on, I don’t and I usually only reapply if I’m spending a lot of time in the sun. If I’m in the office or at home, then I just apply once on face and arms.

Sounds like a great find. I’m now tempted to try it out, especially when you said it’s not greasy. I need oil-free products! :p

PB says: Its not oil free either but it works for me some how…

I can’t use it. It feels abit heavy on my face. Too sensitive to the texture thats why =P I’m sticking to my Biotherm.

PB says: Yeah some people did say so though I didn’t experience it. To each our own! :)

what product do you use on your arms? banana boat and all that? *blur* i think i should start applying sunblock on my arms as well already. do you apply it after body lotion?

thanks! :)

PB says: Sunblock is always the last one to go on your skin. I use the Australian Cancer Council sunscreen for the body but I reckon you could use any. I find Coppertone too smelly but Banana Boat is ok.

Hello this is a bit out of the blue, but what do you think of Clinique Super City Block Ultra Protection and pharma-cosmetics sunscreen such as La Roche Posay?

@LT SH : I haven’t tried both brands you have mentioned. I have read good things about both though. I believe the Clinique Super City sunblock contains Titanium Dioxide which is a physical blocker as does La Roche Posay. I might check it out some time but not so soon. Thanks.
