Hi, I saw your post and felt I had to comment as I've just recently got rid of my acne. I'm in my late twenties and have never had acne in my life, then 6 months ago out of the blue I developed it. It took me ages to work out what was wrong, I went to the Doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics which didn't work. However, once I changed my shampoo and conditioner my acne went away, I think it was the build up of oil in my hair and on my face, I just couldn't get rid of it. The shampoo and conditioner were tresemme. Now I'm fine, so definetly beware of what products you use and check the ingredients, my shampoo had almonld oil in it.

Hi gals and guys out there....if u suffer from mild to severe acne breakouts, some tips to handle it. Why dun u try Simple Products, especially its soothing toner....each time after i manage to squeeze out the zits, i will apply the soothing toner to close the pores. It also helps to reduce the scarring from the squeezing effect. Later apply Vitamin E cream on it for moisturizing. Try and see.

Hi Paris,

I have no comment of the incident between hair product and the apparent problem you had with acne. Nor have I ever had trouble with my facial skin since puberty.

But now and then I do have some problem (twice every year, thank goodness for that) with acne (singular). Whenever I start to develop one (area becomes reddish and hurt when touched), I wash my face three times a day, stop eating complex carbohydrate and increase fibre intake and gulp down gallons of water for about a week and do light scrubbing when washing face - using flanel towel.

It never fails to clear in three or four days and the complexion becomes brighten and smoother.

Most of the time, problems with skin is triggered by dietary issues, but of course environmental causes like yours is also possible.

PB says: Thanks so much for your input! This is very helpful. I'll start monitoring my diet as well to see if my skin loves it.

Hi Paris,
I read your post on the Tresemme conditioner causing acne & this reminded me of something my doctor told me once. U see, i used to have some breakouts as well & i consulted a doctor.
I remember one question tat the doctor posed to me, which was the order tat i took my bath, i.e., which part of my body do i wash first. She advised me to leave washing my face last, cos sometimes the shampoo/conditioner could leave some residue on my skin & could cause breakouts.
I don't know to what extent this is the cause of acne for me, but i do practise this cos it does sound logical, don't u think? So the moral of the story -- we can use any shampoo/conditioner we want, as long as we wash our face thoroughly after that :)

PB says: Thanks so much for your input, ladybird. The thing is, I wash my face right at the end, after I'm done with my hair so that's why I'm not quite sure what was wrong with the Tresemme conditioner. I'm using the same order now and am having no problems with the present Himalaya Herbals conditioner so maybe it was the conditioner. But I'm sure your tip may help others in the same boat. :)
