Factory outlet shopping

I’ve been itching to revamp my wardrobe lately. I go through these phases when I get so tired of my clothes, but changing a wardrobe costs a lot of money. Outlet shopping is a great way to boost your wardrobe on a budget. We don’t have large branded factory outlet malls here except for F.O.S and The Reject Shop which is, honestly, sometimes quite suspect. I’m not an expert when it comes to telling copies from originals, but when you see similar or same designs with different brands’ labels sewn on, something smells fishy.

This is unlike the time when I visited Bicester in England, which is a factory outlet village selling loads of high end branded stuff which are old stock or past season stock. The stores there are run by the brand itself so all you get in say the Burberry store, is pure Burberry. Wonderful place! Expensive still, but great place to browse and some things were quite affordable e.g. I bought a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans at about GBP20 (RM140).

The most popular outlet stores are found though in the USA where you can get Coach, Gucci and a host of other high end brands at outlet stores in Woodbury Commons, New York and Branson Missouri to name two. A friend from Hong Kong went to Las Vegas and came back with 2 Coach bags for a mere $99 (RM350) each *gasp*

So you see why I need to haul my butt over to the USA? ;)
