Philosophy Microdelivery peel to be reviewed

My aunt came back from Las Vegas where she stayed at the Rio Las Vegas hotel. This is not of much consequence except that I asked her to check out a Sephora for me because I was told that the Sephora in Las Vegas is large and has a lot of brands in stock. I wanted her to get me a Philosophy Microdelivery set which I shall be reviewing soon. This is a brand we don’t get in Malaysia so I was excited to try it. Baby smooth skin here I come!
Review: Skincare: DHC Deep cleansing oil
I first heard about DHC Cleansing oil from a beauty forum I used to participate in. There were many girls who liked it as an oil cleanser, especially because it was quite affordable and because it was made with olive oil. Olive oil, as many proponents of it will vouch, contain antioxidants and are good for your skin as well as for your health.

DHC is a Japanese brand which uses olive oil as the base for its skincare products. We don’t get it here in Malaysia, but when I was last in Hong Kong, I wandered into a DHC store and picked up a small bottle of the Deep Cleansing Oil to try.
The cleansing oil has a thick consistency. It has an amber colour, rather like that of cooking oil. It feels thick in your hands and is quite hard to spread on the face.
It is used very much like all other cleansing oils i.e. with dry hands and a dry face, and then rinsed off with warm water as you gently rub your skin to remove the dirt, makeup and oils accumulated during the day.
I found that when I first used it, my skin felt quite nice and clean. This was in Hong Kong where the air was quite dry. I contemplated buying another bottle but changed my mind later. I’m glad I did.
When I got home to KL, I found that this oil did not work well on my skin after prolonged use. Used off and on, it makes my skin feel clean and soft. Used everyday, my skin started getting clogged and I had these little bumps on my skin. They went away after I stopped using this which tells me that this cleansing oil is not suitable for me.
I can’t quite recall how much I paid for the bottle I bought, but on the DHC site, its US$24 for 6.7 fl. oz. There are many people who like this and who find that this brand’s cleansing oil works wonderfully for them. For me however, its a bit of a let down.
Pros: Not very expensive, cleans skin well
Cons: Caused my skin to break out, not available in Malaysia

Pictures on canvas

Here’s some great christmas gift ideas. Take a picture of your family, wedding day, baby or your parents or even parent’s in law and get them printed on canvas. Instead of just buying a photo frame for the gift recipient, I think this would make them go “Aww….” and possibly even get you into the good books of your mother in law
Its never too early to plan for Christmas so start looking for your favourite photos to avoid the holiday crush.
Do you keep makeup in the office?

Do you keep any makeup in the office for quick or emergency touch-ups? You know, those times when you don’t have time to do your face before getting into the office in the mornings? I read somewhere once that it was only prudent to either carry a set of makeup around in your handbag, or keep some in your office desks so you are never caught out without having done your face.
I always find time to do my face in the mornings. Simple looks for days when I am rushed and more elaborate looks on days when I have time. However, I do carry a little makeup pouch in my handbag. All it contains is my lipstick du jour, because that’s the only thing that disappears throughout the day. I sometimes end up with more than one lipstick in there, because I forget to take out the ones I previously used, but it sometimes allows me to change my lip colour during the day.
Unlike many people, I don’t carry around pressed powder for facial touch-ups. By the end of the day, I do notice that my foundation or powder would have faded somewhat but I usually am heading on home anyway, so I don’t bother touching up. Maybe I am comfortable with some skin showing through or with the less than perfect texture of my skin? I don’t know. I just never got round to carrying powder.
So, do you keep makeup in your office or do you carry around a full face in your handbag?
