Kenneth Jay Lane Jewellery

I was shopping around for a gift for a makeup mad friend and look what I found! A pendant on a necklace, in the shape of a red lipstick! Wouldn’t that be appropriate? Hehe…

This design is by a designer called Kenneth Jay Lane and I saw it on Electricladyland.com which carries a line of Kenneth Jay Lane Jewelry. Some of his designs do look quite nice, if a little clunky. I suppose it would suit those who like bulkier jewellery. He seems to specialise in rings, pendants and bracelets but other than gold and silver, there isn’t much information on what are the jewellery items made of. Bit of a pity really. I’m sensitive to artificial gold, so I do like to know what I’m wearing on my skin. Then again, at the prices they are charging, it should be the real thing. The lipstick pendant for example costs a cool $88, but I’ve no idea what the size is so I can’t tell if its a cute size or a bulky size. Some information on that would be nice.

Kenneth Jay Lane seems to like strawberries too, for there are many designs incorporating or featuring strawberries. All in all, I rather liked looking at his designs. They are quite quirky and have a nice designer look about them. I wonder how my friend will feel about wearing an $88 lipstick around her neck? hmm…
