Why plastic surgery?

A friend and I were talking about liposuction the other day. Not that she needed it of course, but we were just talking about plastic surgery in general, and the costs involved.

I was wondering what is plastic surgery that makes it so appealing to people and especially women? Does it always turn out the way you want it to? Sometimes it doesn’t, and the healing process is a long and usually painful one. I remember watching this reality series called Extreme Makeover, where they would makeover women by giving them plastic surgery where they needed it to make themselves feel beautiful. If its for medical reasons I’d support it. But if its purely for cosmetic reasons, I think its a waste of time and suffering. Women must learn to love themselves the way they are and the way God and nature intended them to be. After all, beauty ideals change over time, and if you are born in one race, you can’t possibly make yourself look like another! Just be happy with yourself, that’s what I say.
